Trainer Essentials Power Hour

You’re a Subject Matter Expert …

And you’d love to take your first steps in corporate training – but don’t know where to start?

Or your employer has tasked you with delivering training because you’re great at your job … so of course you’ll be able to train … but they haven’t actually trained you how to train?

Or you’d like to include training in your skillset to develop your own business?

It can feel like you’re stuck with no way out, onwards or upwards.

For the SME, building professional training skills unlocks doors of opportunity.

A new way to shine.

Supporting others to develop and achieve.

New personal development and fulfilment.

New income.

So here’s your very first step into your new world – my information-packed SME To Trainer 1-1 Power Hour.

Preparation

Whichever option you choose for your session, first I’ll ask you to consider in advance:

Who are you, what do you do and what makes you the go-to person for learners?

What would you like to achieve with your new training skills?

What might be worrying or concerning you?

This will all help you focus on why you’re taking this professional step up, and what you might need to tackle.

Your session – the options

For your Power Hour you can then choose from a range of options:

Option 1: The Overview

Our interactive one hour Overview session will feature insider essentials on:

The point and purpose of training

Why and how adults learn

The ADDIE training cycle:

Analyse your audience and stakeholder needs for training

Design your Aim, Objectives and Agenda for sign off

Develop your content, considering how and why we learn

Implement your training – facilitation, Q&A and audience management essentials

Evaluate your training at four levels

The Overview will help kickstart your new trainer journey, with new insights and understanding.

Option 2: The Spotlight

This gives you the option to shine a light on any individual training aspects that you’d like to explore for your hour.

For example:

Planning it “How do I go about engaging with stakeholders, analysing audience learning, development and performance needs and setting aim and objectives when I’m planning a new piece of training?”

Preparing it “How do I decide what to create and how to deliver it? What are effective ways to write and design training that engages, sticks and changes behaviour?”

Delivering it “How do I deal with nerves, improving my confident public speaking, facilitation and audience management skills to feel, look and sound better when I get up to speak?”

Evaluating it “How do I conduct a robust evaluation that proves learning, behaviour, results and return on investment?”

I’ll ask you to consider your situation, then we can spotlight the aspect you most want to develop.

Option 3: The Deep Dive

Or we can respond to your concerns and focus on the issues and worries that you’re dealing with at the moment, as a more free-flowing conversation.

Whatever you’d like to look at, we can then really focus in on what’s going on for you.

It’s your choice.

Post session

Whatever option you choose, you’ll leave with some actions to take you forward and I’ll send you a PDF with your session notes for further personal development.
